Phoenix Water Damage Services owner, Robert, went on his annual fishing trip to the PNW (Pacific Northwest). Normally, he also goes to Canada but because of COVID-19 that wasn’t allowed this year. Every year Robert meets up with his long time friend and other half to the “Salmon Slayers”, Kyle. Kyle has a blog called Pacific Northwest Best Life. According to his site this blog is “dedicated to capturing the best of living and recreating in the Pacific Northwest”. They were also joined by another long-time friend, Ed, for one of the days. After arriving in Seattle, WA and then heading to Puyallup, WA they packed up their fishing gear and boat and road tripped to Port Townsend. Port Townsend is a city on the Quimper Peninsula in Washington.. It offers plentiful fishing opportunities. Salmon, of course, is the sport fish of choice and the main objective. They also fished at Sekiu, Neah Bay, Cape Flattery and Tatoosh Island. They caught huge King Salmon, Ling Cod, and Black Bass. They got to experience seeing grey whales breaching the water right next to their boat, not to mention otters, sea lions, seals, and bald eagles. The scenery alone was a sight to behold. Massive rock formations that have eroded from the elements over time and the allure of sea caves. After arriving in Port Angeles they were able to do some more fishing and crabbing. They caught Dungeness crabs and kept only the males as they are larger and meatier. Throwing back the female crabs protects the species by allowing them to reproduce more young for future generations. Robert and Kyle finished up their amazing fishing trip with a crab boil on a secluded beach called Box Canyon. It was the perfect way to end such a beautiful experience in the state of Washington.
